Branding & Web Design Case Study

For Hope Church, Beaconsfield

Introduction

At Hubb, we believe that technology, creativity, and a heart for ministry go hand-in-hand. While we've traditionally been known for our church management software and website platform, we also offer a full range of creative services that help churches communicate their identity and mission. This case study shares how we partnered with Hope Church Beaconsfield to deliver a complete branding, print, and website refresh that reflected their evolving vision.

Background

Hope Church had already been using Hubb to host their website, but as they looked to refresh their identity, they reached out to see how we could support them beyond software. With a Creative Director, a Web Developer, and a Project Manager on our team, we were perfectly placed to handle a comprehensive branding project.

"They were already hosting our website and we were really happy with what they had already provided. We saw that they offered more services including branding, logos and printing items so it made sense to bring the whole project together along with a fresh website template."
– Matt Jones, Pastor, Hope Church

Our Process

Step 1: Discovery and Consultation

We began by sending our logo design brief questionnaire to help the church leadership clarify their goals, preferences, and vision for the rebrand. This simple but effective tool helped everyone think through what they really wanted to achieve.

Step 2: On-Site Research Visit

Following the questionnaire, Adam and Robin visited Hope Church in person. Meeting on site allowed us to experience the church's atmosphere, understand their values more deeply, and explore creative directions in collaboration with their team.

"This was followed up with a site visit and discussion where Adam and Robin shared some other designs to help elicit what we liked and what we didn't like, some of which came as a surprise to us!"
– Matt Jones, Pastor, Hope Church

Step 3: Logo Concept Development

Using our proven logo design process, Robin developed a range of logo concepts inspired by Hope Church’s input, research insights, and years of design experience. Multiple options were presented. You can see more about our logo design process here: Hubb Logo Design Process

Step 4: Refinement and Selection

After feedback sessions, two designs stood out as top contenders. A few final adjustments were made, and in an interesting twist, the church selected a design they hadn't initially expected to choose — a testament to the strength and surprise of the creative process.

"After a few minor requested adjustments Hubb provided us with two final designs to choose from and, again to our surprise, we opted for the one we didn't plump for initially! This is largely because of some excellent design elements in the logo itself and the overall branding."
– Matt Jones, Pastor, Hope Church

Brand Application

With the new logo finalised, we continued the journey with Hope Church to extend their refreshed brand across all touchpoints:

"After finalising a design, we then moved on to accompanying print items and website refresh. Throughout all this Adam and Robin gave great advice and were super helpful in guiding us along an unfamiliar path."
– Matt Jones, Pastor, Hope Church

All materials were delivered to the church on time, in perfect condition, ready for their official launch.

Website Refresh

As part of the project, we updated Hope Church’s website by applying our new Origin template. Like all of our templates, this was provided at no extra charge, and included our full styling service. Robin personally styled the fonts, colours, and images to match the new brand identity, ensuring a cohesive online presence.

"Including how best to take photos for the new website and printing elements. These were subsequently delivered to site on time and in perfect condition, ready for us to 'launch' as and when we were ready."
– Matt Jones, Pastor, Hope Church

Our goal is always to make these changes simple and stress-free for our clients.

"Overall, the whole process from start to finish has been so much easier than it may otherwise have been. Adam and the team have made this possible and always with a Kingdom mindset, which is a uniquely essential element. We would happily recommend them to any other church or Christian organisation."

The impact of this rebrand extends beyond just a new look. Hope Church now enjoys cohesive branding that captures attention and communicates their identity clearly. The interior of the church has also been transformed to offer visitors a better visual experience, reinforcing what they've seen online.
