My Area is the part of your website where people who’ve logged in look after their own details and involvement. It saves you work: when someone changes something there, it shows straight away in your web office.
What people can do in My Area
-
My Profile: keep their own details up to date, including any fields you’ve set to appear there, such as a medical and allergy field for check-in. It’s also where they choose whether to show their details in your address book.
-
Consent & Messaging, under My Involvement: choose how they hear from you and manage their consent.
-
Groups, under My Involvement: join and leave groups. Applications wait for your approval unless the group approves them automatically.
-
My Signups: volunteers see every rota they can sign up to. They can reach sign-ups from the church app too.
-
My Organisations: people who edit an organisation in your directory keep its details up to date.
Getting people there
My Area needs a website login. Once someone has logged in on your website, they’ll find My Area there. If someone doesn’t have login access yet, you can enable it at any time; see how to help someone who can’t log in.
Good to know
-
My Area is on your website, for everyone with a login. The web office is separate, for the people who run your site, so My Area won’t appear in the web office menu.
-
Anything people change in My Area, such as their consent, is recorded on their record, so you can always see what they chose and when. See how to see and manage people’s consent.
