Is Hubb affected by the PHP security issue?

You may have seen news about a serious security issue affecting PHP, including an alert from the National Cyber Security Centre. PHP is a programming language used by many websites, and those sites have needed urgent updates to fix it.

Your Hubb site isn’t affected

Hubb isn’t built on PHP, and the Hubb platform doesn’t use it. Your website, church app, Web Office and database are all unaffected, secure and working as normal.

There’s nothing you need to do.

Good to know

  • We host Hubb and keep the platform up to date for you, so there are no security updates for you to install.
  • If your trustees, denomination or IT adviser ask about this, you’re welcome to share this page with them.
  • If your church also uses other websites or online tools, it’s worth checking with whoever provides them.
  • For extra protection on your logins, switch on multi-factor authentication.
